Both are fast and joyful, while the third work, Hear Me, Redeemer, is slower and more soulful. They all have musical characteristics of the gospel style in common—the quasi-jazzy feel in both the accompaniment and vocal lines, a feeling of free improvisation, and the relatively simple tonality.
