It is said that this march, from 1900, is fashioned from parts of one of Sousa's (apparently discarded) operettas. It opens with a festive march theme; the latter part of the piece is centered on a variant of the main theme and begins relaxed, somewhat like the latter half of Star and Stripes Forever. Much of the march focuses on the new theme; it gradually builds to a grand conclusion.
