The marketplace fills with townspeople and vendors as Ruhamah meets her friend Aaron at the market. As they talk, a stranger named Joseph asks them for a place to stay. Aaron recommends they try the Thirsty Camel Inn down the street, as his father's inn is full. After Joseph leaces, Ruhamah chides Aaron for sending them there because it's not a very clean place. As the scene closes, Aaron walks Ruhamah home. They notice a large, bright star in the sky and Aaron quickly suggests they make a wish. In the midst of a busy night in Behtlehem, Joseph knowcks at Aaron's parents' inn asking for a room. They all begin to get harried as they realize it is time for Mary to give birth. Finally, Aaron suggests they stay in the stable. Mary and Joseph are taken to the stable (manger scene). Shepherds and Angels enter and tell the story as found in Luke. The wise men appear and tell the story of their travels, then move to the manger scene. Ruhamah leads her mother to the stable as she tells her about the newborn child. They carry a loaf of bread as their gift to Mary and Joseph. Hannah and Ruhamah kneel togheter at the manger as the entire cast sings a song of thanks, "Day of Days."
