Latin: Samba

A Jazz Samba is "feel" more than anything else. The rhythm section should play in a very free style within the framework of the arrangement, and need not "read" every note. The melody at bar 17 and throughout the first chorus should be played with a "light" approach. "HEAVY" bogs things down... but when the volume is turned up, the figures are rhythmically simple enough to "move" the whole ensemble. Always think "2". The optional solos are transcribed from the Sammy Nestico Orchestra CD Night Flight.
