These fanfares were composed for important opening ceremonies at the institutions at which the composer has taught; the Library Fanfare was written for the W. T. Young Memorial Library at the University of Kentucky, and the Dedicatory Fanfare was written for Boston University's Harry Agganis Arena. They have subsequently been performed by ensembles from high school to professional levels at venues such as Tanglewood, the International Trumpet Guild Conference and the National Trumpet Competition.
