(Grade 4+ · AATTB w/Rhythm)
Thaddeus is very obviously a respectful tribute to Thad Jones. It begins with eight bars alto and piano rubato leading into a ballad tempo sax section rendition for the remainder of the first chorus. A sixteen-bar piano solo, and an eight-bar bass solo, with the sax section completing the second chorus is followed by a double tempo interlude and a tag very reminiscent of Thad's Dont Get Sassy, with the full ensemble pressing to the end. Recorded by Jerry Dodgion on The Joy of Sax.
