This method, designed for the beginning/intermediate jazz ensemble is divided into four parts which can be used separately in instructional or clinic settings, or played nonstop as a daily warm-up in less that 10 minutes.
· Section 1: Jazz Chorale - Pitch, phrasing, balance, dynamics
· Section 2: Doo-Dots - Articulation and Rhythms
· Section 3: Scales: In swing style, around the circle of fourths with Major seventh arpeggios
· Section 4: Kicks - A 12-bar blues-style exercise to prepare drummers and the ensemble to enter on various upbeats and downbeats
