The 2011 NPITYA will also mark a special announcement. This year the Institute will honor Dr. David Karp. After 28 years, Dr. Karp will be stepping down as director of the NPITYA. From the beginning, his vision, commitment and leadership, has made Institute an invaluable source for continuing education and renewal for countless teachers. We will miss his warmth, sincerity and his good humor, but we wish him well as he enjoys his summers pursuing other creative endeavors.
