Spanish Dances is a suite of early works by Granados, and they remain perhaps the most performed of his works. They were much admired by the contemporaries of his day, like Massenet, Saint-Saens, and Grieg, because of their distinctive musical qualities. The twelve components are sometimes titled or referred to a little differently, depending on the compiler/publisher, but they're usually listed in a consistent order -- 1. Minuetto: Allegro con brio · 2. Orientale: Andante con moto · 3. Fandango (Zarabanda): Allegro Energico · 4. Vilanesca: Allegretto alla Pastorale · 5. Andaluza: Andantino quasi Allegretto · 6. Rondella Aragonesa (Jota): Allegretto poco a poco Acelerando · 7. Valenciana: Allegro Arioso · 8. Sardana: Assai Moderato · 9. Mazurca: Molto Allegro Brillante · 10. Danze Triste: Allegretto · 11. Arabesca: Andante con moto · 12. Arabesca: Andante.

Gore has arranged several of these dances for Clarinet Trio, Clarinet Quartet, Sax Quartet, Trumpet Quartet, Brass Trio, Brass Quartet and Brass Quintet.
