Jingle Bells, A Ballad does not sound very much like the original Jingle Bells, but it certainly does sound like a Christmas Tune! Almost all of the harmonies are substitution chords, in the Vince Guaraldi style, and the tempo is very slow. Rhythms are not difficult, but phrasing and dynamics are very important. Short melodic solos feature trombone, alto, and trumpet. Top trumpet note is C. Proper attention to phrase endings and dynamics will make this a favorite with audiences and musicians alike! Scored for 5-4-4-4
