(Grade 4, Latin)
Cha-cha that has evolved into a classic of the standard Latin jazz repertoire. It has been recorded by Tito Puente, Poncho Sanchez and Kenny Drew. This arrangement was recorded on The Latin Side.
Moderate brass ranges, playable by good high school groups.
Instrumentation: AATTB saxophone section with AATT doubling on flutes, baritone on bass clarinet, optional 5th flute. 4 trumpets, 3 trombones and bass trombone, piano, bass, drums, string section.
This piece can be performed with or without the string section. In case the sax players don't double on flute, an extra set of woodwind parts for additional flute players has been included. The arrangement will work nicely with just 3 flutes and bass clarinet along with the standard sax section.
