Fans of the television show Glee will recognize the melody of this piece as the recurring love theme used for scenes with Emma and Will. Kerry Muzzey artfully weaves the opening bars of the classical song O Sole Mio into a beautiful and haunting piano solo. This arrangement is in traditional five-finger style, with the melody split between the left and right hands and without key signatures in the student part. Dotted quarter notes, triplets and sixteenth notes have been avoided and the optional duet accompaniment creates a fuller, richer musical experience.
Music Box Dancer was originally recorded by Frank Mills in 1974, but it did not become a hit until years later - 1978. However, from 1978 on, it's been a perennial favorite of pianists worldwide, and continues to enjoy its status as a pop clasic phenomenon.
